I will be starting solos next year in the STS2 category with my 1997 del Sol. I was wondering what sort of upgrades you guys think are most important to be competitive in solos and in the STS2 category. Currently the car has upper front and rear strut bars. Vented and slotted power slot rotors with brembo racing brake pads and lowering springs (which I will be replacing). It also has an intake that I need to replace. What else might you suggest and where do you guys shop for your parts?

The loose nut behind the wheel should be the first thing you work on. Look into your region's novice/new racer school, then into Evolution School. Get as much seat time as you can before you really start modding anything. After that, tires and suspension would be my next two places to throw money at.

Great answer Stephanie. I would agree, do a novice school if your region has one. An Evolution Phase 1 school would also be great, but usually a little bit more costly. Once the driver gets faster and is more comfortable behind the wheel, he/she can get the most out of any modifications that you make to the car ( unless your me, and modifying the car actually slows you down [:'(]).
