Well, regular tires are complicated - practical goals might have to be considered!  What are you goals?  Cheap?  Ride quality?  Noise?  Wear?  Dry/Wet/Snow performance?

Continental ContiExtremeContacts are a good all-around tire, and they aren't expensive.  Don't know if they have the right size for your Saturn though. 

Old reliable for me is the  BFG Traction T/A.  Great for small to midsize cars, good 4 season traction, great wear, and long life.  I was recently in the market for our Sunfire and ran across a new tire by Eagle, the Eagle GT.  Seems to behave similar to the Traction T/A, but the "look" is very different.  The Traction T/A has the plain bubbled out sidewall and typical tread pattern.  Eagle GT has a flat sidewall that looks more like a race tire and has an aggressive tread pattern.  I actually like the look of the Traction T/A's better on the Sunfire.. but maybe just because I'm used to it for so many years.
