Did anyone catch Meet The Press this morning? Tim Russert spoke with Dick Cheney for the first time in three years and... well, the results were interesting (I'll spare my opinions)

You can find a complete transcript here    TRANSCRIPT

or

You can watch the whole video here (48 minutes)

(LOL, the forum software blocks out the Vice President's name)

I read it.  Same old, same old.  I just wish people like Mr. Russert had questioned him so critically 3 years ago when it mattered.

Chris, My apologies for assuming that some people might be interested in current events. It doesn't matter what your point of view may be, there were some tough questions asked. Maybe you should take a minute and watch it...

Calm down you liberal idiot, I gave the post nearly 20 hours before I posted a comment, simply commenting on the fact that no one cared to comment on your post...

Chris, thats the whole problem with the U.S. Everyone just stays silent while our foreign policy/future goes straight to hell.  We either don't know whats going on, know but don't care, are stupid enough to buy any of the Bush adminstration's B.S., or simly believe that our opinion or actions can't really make a difference. Just because people don't respond to the thread, doesn't mean that they don't care.

As far as I'm concerned we've did the all the political arguing we could stand on this forum a few years ago. We pretty much know where we all stand on the issues.

For me, I'm very tired of the republican "if your a liberal you're an idiot" retoric and the democrat "if you're a conservative you're an idiot" retoric. Without at least a two party system we can't be a democracy. Democracy requires informed debate and it isn't happening now.

Back in the Regan years I didn't like many of their policies, but I at least appreciated the concept and idea of of less government interference. The disagreement was mostly with urban and environmental policies. And I felt that as a person Reagan enjoyed the debate and usually showed some respect for his oponents.

Today its all about anger and hostility. IMO the republicans have come so far from a less government mantra and too affiliated with the Christian right. It too late to debate weather the war in Iraq was right or wrong. The debate is now how to get finished with the job. Again here I think the republicans keep trying to fit the same square peg in the same round hole. And it isn't working. They allude to this being a fight like WWII. It couldn't be more different. The "enermy" isn't out for political control. they simply want chaos. Ca't fight that kind of an enemy the way you fought the Third Reich.

So conservative or liberal I don't care. All I want these days is a solid dialouge instead of the constant blather we have.

Let's see interest rates near and above 20%, deificit spending out the ass, running other countries economies into the ground.  Sounds like good times[:(]
