Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car, understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car, horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take it with you.

Derek had a few decent comments, but for the most part they do suck.  Still, Sheehan is better at F1 than he was when he did WRC for speed years ago (hard to believe, I know).

Its rare for me to watch a race but I am glad I got to see this one!  Just fantastic driving and strategy.  One of the best races I've watched.  So rarely do you get to see two top drivers in two top cars with the same fuel load and tire wear battling, let alone for the lead.  For me, of course, it was especially satisfying to watch Schumi take the win and Alonso start making mistakes.  A great drive from Alonso, but a brilliant one for MS.

Schu/Brawn really showed how good they are in strategy right before the 2nd pitstops. It's interesting that while Alonso was on MS's rear wing, he was turning laps in the 1:27s range, kind of forcing Renault's hand in calling FA in a lap early. The next lap MS pitted, but that lap was in the 1:25s range (which makes me think MS had speed in reserve), ensuring that when he came out of his 2nd stop, he was ahead of Alonso, and given that Imola is very difficult to pass on, the race was his.

Richards and Prodrive got the nod for the 12th team in '08.  Hope this doesn't affect the WRC team any more than it already seems to.  Maybe Subaru should take over the WRC team.  Wonder who Prodrive will get for engines?  Subaru badged Cosworth?  Aston??  Probably not Honda.  Or Toyota or Ferrari since they have two teams.

first, they need to worry about getting past local opposition so they can get zoning permits to build their facilities before they worry about engines [;)]

On the short career of Mr. Ide: "Sometimes he has really different lines to us. Maybe that's because they drive on the other side in Japan," added Red Bull's Austrian Christian Klien.

LOL. I am glad to see him leave.  I have nothing personal against him as far as his character goes, but his driving style is just a accident thats waiting to happen.  On the other hand, Sato's first full year was also horrible.

while Ralph S. and Derek D. are pretty crappy announcers, it is nice to be able to watch the race without cable.

Another good race though.  If only Schumi had a couple tenths more per lap.  Oh well.  Nice to see Ferraru continue to keep the frogs honest.  If only I could say the same about Subaru [:@]

ahh, Monaco.  I strongly suggest checking out this pic album.  Not many cars, but ohh the pit babes are everywhere.  http://motorsport.com/photos/select.asp?S=F1&E=Monaco_GP/Friday&Y=2006&O=0

Hope red cars are on the front row since that means everything there.

the life of an F1 driver sure must be rough (and a goofy driver at that)

also, when you check out the above link, you need to look at the "saturday qualify" tab on page 9 [;)]

who thinks Schumi stopping was deliberate?  I don't think he's that sneaky, unless he's getting the same affliction that Senna got later in his career.  Alonso sure was peaved in his inteview after quali. It's pretty harsh to get sent to the back at Monte--that leave little hope of even getting into the points, let alone a win.  Can't believe CBS has the nerve to put Monte on the same time as Indy.  I guess they want everybody to flip channels during the commercials and watch both as I'll be doing.

Dude, is that Gilligan?

Here, Schumacher is seen kicking Monte Carlo's only soccerball in front of a croissant truck while his team leads 1-0 early in the first period:
