as I check my email, the Anson guru was also awaiting a reply. (moving cross-country really screws up ones volunteer web master duties. )
===========
Just discovered your SV Register, thought I'd add to it.
I have;
1.'84 Anson SA-4, chassis # 84-359 (w/ all logbooks). This car was put on the pole, Long Beach, 1984, by Tommy Byrne in its 1st race. He took off the left/front corner while leading. I have a photo from the 1985 Long Beach Grand Prix, showing him up front, while I'm stuffing a Ralt into the turn two wall, courtesy of a bump from Jeff Andretti. I traded the Ralt to Mark Pivec (then importer of Anson) for the Anson. In my 1st pro race in the Anson, Detroit, 1985, I managed a 10th. I won a lot of SCCA nationals, west coast track records, ran selected pro races, qualified 5th in the 1988 Dallas Grand Prix, then stuffed into a spinning car in front of me. The car's restored w/ a new tub.
2.'79 Zink Z-14, w/ all logbooks. I'm the 1st driver, ran it in the 1980 Ontario 500 Mini Indy race, and other west coast pro SV races. Won SCCA races, SF region championships, lap records.
In Oct. 1988, I went to England, met with Gary Anderson (later the designer/engineer for Jordan-Michael Schmacher's 1st GP ride, Stewart, and Jaguar), Richard Barnes and Bob Simpson (now SPA). I purchased the whole Anson Race Cars company, with the goal of building the cars in California. 2 months later, PanAm flight 103 went down over Lockerbie, Scotland with the two top executives in VW who were instrumental in VW's support of the SV Series. It soon became known that we were a lame duck series, and the market for the cars disappeared.
I still have the bulk of the inventory- all Anson specific parts, molds, drawings, etc., along with an Anson SA-7, formerly Alan Davies.
Hope this contributes to the SV Register
Regards,
Mike McHugh
